Jadcore is a value added provider of post-industrial plastic recycling services. Most people are familiar with post-consumer plastics, these are all of the plastic items that we throw into the recycling bin when we’re done with them. However, in the manufacture of plastic products, there’s often waste, or ‘scrap’ - superfluous raw materials or materials that don’t meet a manufacturing standard for a processed product. In the past, this scrap was simply disposed of as trash. However, as plastic recycling equipment and systems, such as those provided by EREMA, become more cost-efficient and capable of producing higher value end-products, more and more manufacturers are recognizing that there’s a profit stream available to them in their waste pile. Larger consumer products goods companies are also sensitive to the impact on their valuable brands of not manufacturing responsibly.
Located in Terre Haute, Indiana, Jadcore has been using EREMA equipment since 2012, when they installed an EREMA 1514 TVEplus® system. This system is ideal for post-industrial plastic recycling as it’s a flexible technology able to process a variety of materials. Being extremely satisfied with their original investment, they’ve added a new INTAREMA 1714 TVE plus® system.
Processing 27,000 tons of unprinted and very heavily printed Post Industrial Plastic is a challenge. Even more challenging is taking in a mix of LLDPE (Linear Low-Density Polyethylene), LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene), HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), PP (Polypropylene) and PS (Polystyrene) and consistently generating high quality / high value plastic recyclate pellets.
