“Film recycling in the USA and Canada has long been a challenge. While practiced in other regions such as the European Union, most recycling programs in the USA do not accept post consumer film. It does not have to be this way, post-consumer film is principally recyclable and can be turned into useful and valuable products again.
The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) has conducted a study on this topic to evaluate possibilities.
The detailed report is available here.
EREMA processed post-consumer store drop of material from the WRAP program in the North East to demonstrate that quality pellets can be achieved – many samples from that test have been distributed and we still have material for testing available. Anyone that is interested in getting a sample of 10-20 lbs can reach out to us”
