What is the point of Biodegradable Plastics if They're Not Disposed of Properly?

Biodegradable plastics have their place, but filling tiny portions of lotions and shampoos into single-use packaging appears to miss the goal of improved sustainable personal care solutions.

As a hotel guest what I am supposed to do with these after use? There is no "biodegradable only recycling" bin nearby. If it ends up in the general garbage bin (most likely) it won't biodegrade any time soon.

The more sustainable and less garbage producing option would be to have refillable dispensers in the bathroom.
